CHARGE AMPLIFIER

TYPE CA7/C

INTRODUCTION

The CA7 Charge Amplifier is specifically designed for use with acoustic emission transducers. It is an extremely low noise, high gain amplifier with high interference rejection housed in a compact robust housing.

SPECIFICATION

Input

Connector                              N’ type socket fitted as standard (other connector types fitted on request).

Input impedance                     100W approx. above 10kHz.

Output

Connector                              ‘N’ type socket fitted as standard (other connector types fitted on request).

Performance

Charge Sensitivity                  250mV/pico-coulomb nominal.

Bandwidth                              <10kHz to >25MHz

Input Noise                            Series Noise

                                               Voltage Generator: 0.5nV/ÖHz typical.

Max output level                     1.4V RMS into 50W.

Interference Immunity              With an input capacitance of 400pF the injection of a 100mA pulse

with a rise time of 5ns between any two points on the amplifier will

produce an output of  less than 200ms.
